How to achieve your goals
Ever set a goal, felt excited, and then lost momentum? You’re not alone! The secret to sticking with your goals isn’t just motivation—it’s self-awareness. When you truly understand yourself, you can set better goals, recognize what’s holding you back, and stay on track more easily.Welcome to the messy world of self-awareness - where you become your own detective, therapist, and sometimes, biggest eye-roller.
My initial thoughts were that self awareness was for people who had everything organized and were living their lives out of their pefectly color coded planers and meditation apps, turns out (sorry to break the bubble) but it's for everyone including those of us who prefer to go with the flow, trust our instincts, and make decisions in the moment (like me!)."
Let's be real: self-awareness isn't about becoming some zen master who never makes mistakes. It's about understanding your own chaos. Those moments when you snap at someone and later realize you were just hungry or stressed? That's self-awareness calling.
Guess what's the coolest part, once you start to tune in more closely, self-awareness is like a super power. The more you understand yourself, the better you get at it.
So here are 5 simple ways to build Self-Awareness (that actually worked for me):
Recognize your patterns of self-sabotage (eg. Procastination, fear of missing out, so that you can break this loop)
Figure out what inspires you so that you can create a system that keeps you going longer
Set important boundaries
Make decisions that actually align and serve you (with your strengths)
Understand your triggers - Identify what sets you off so you can respond instead of react.
Nobody becomes self-aware overnight. Some days you'll be a self-awareness ninja, other days you'll be completely oblivious. When you understand yourself, you work with yourself, not against yourself. Take a step back, reflect, and watch how much easier goal-setting (and achieving!) becomes. 🚀
